It's about time!!!

Woof!

It's about time that we started our own blog! As you may already know, we moved to a nice home on Elm Avenue Thanksgiving weekend, and immediately had a lot to be thankful for - or for you grammarians, a lot for which to be thankful! Our people, Mark and Nancy, have given us wonderful dog beds, two crates, two cats (Tim and Sallye) to try to play with, a newly fenced in backyard, and 3 square meals a day. We have worked very hard to show our appreciation by learning to "go potty outside". First we learned how to ring a bell hanging on the patio door so someone would let us out. Then, we graduated to the doggy door, so we have more freedom. At night, we stay in a locked crate and have to wake someone up to go out. Mark and Nancy don't totally trust us to make good choices yet, and they do have concern about those little black kitties with the white stripe down their backs and tails. So far, we haven't met any and they don't want us too. We don't understand why because we LOVE kitties!

We love love love our cousins, Sequoia, Oliver and Morgan, and they love us too, though they won't readily admit it. Their people, the Shilens and the Reeveses are very nice to us too. They hug us and play with us and try to teach us tricks.

We were 13 weeks old when the Dreweks adopted us, so that makes us about 20 weeks old now. Wow! Five months old! When we arrived, I weighed almost 20 pounds and my brother, Jackson, weighed almost 15 pounds. We've gained quite a bit of weight, yet I'm keeping my girlish figure. Jackson's now 27 pounds and I'm 31 pounds.

You're probably wondering what breed we are. So are we!!! So is our family. So is the vet! You see, our mom is reported to have been a golden retriever mix, but that's hard to believe. We're black and gray and white, splotches and spots. We think we're gorgeous and so do lots of people we've met. We just don't look anything like a golden. Unfortunately we have no idea who or what our dad is. We look forward to seeing what we turn out to be, though we know we will be big.

If Nancy can figure out how to post some photos, you can see for yourself how cute we are.

We think it might be fun to share some or our adventures with you so decided to create this blog. We hope we can keep up with it. Next time it will be Jackson's turn to write it. His blogs might be short because he's much more shy than I am. It's way past my bedtime now. Got to go!
Arf,
Dakota
